THOMASVILLE, GA |Â Â Â Athletic Director, Kurt Stringfellow, announce last week, in a staff meeting, that
Ron Foxx was now the full-time head coach of the Thomas Women's Basketball Team.
Coach Foxx transitions from Thomas' Men's Basketball program, where he helped turn the Night Hawks program around to a 18-9. Thomas earned its first ever NAIA basketball tournament appearance and also finished 2
nd in the Sun Conference during the 2022-23 season. During the year he developed two 1
st team all-conference selections (one whom garnered All-American Honorable Mention honors) and two 2
nd team all-conference selections. For Thomas, the win total tied a school record for the most wins in a season.
Before coming to TU Coach Foxx coached at Saint Leo (FL) in 2021-22 and also in the 2019-20 season. Over the course of the two years, Saint Leo compiled a 24-28 record. He was the Player Development Coach, and developed three professional athletes and two Sunshine State All-Conference athletes.
Foxx played two years at Miles college and two years at Saint Leo, where he made the All-Conference team in the Sunshine State Conference. He compiled over 1,000 points in his career and is sixth in single season rebounding in the Saint Leo's record books. Upon leaving Saint Leo, Foxx played professionally in Argentina where he helped lead Tomas de Rocamora to first place in the TNA Division.
Foxx holds a Bachelors in Accounting from Saint Leo and is currently studying for an MBA with a specialization in Marketing. He is from Gainesville, FL, where he attended P.K. Yonge DRS. He is married to his wife, Keishara, and has two kids: Kennedy (7) and Kari (4).
Foxx stated, "It's a blessing to be given the opportunity to oversee the Women's Basketball Program at Thomas University. I'm honored that Kurt Stringfellow believes enough in me to let me lead this team. I'm looking forward to turning this program around and bring it to the forefront of the SSAC and the NAIA."
Under Foxx, the Night Hawks have already surpassed last season's win total. The Night Hawks will be on the road this weekend, as the travel to face Keiser, in non-conference action. The game is set to tip off at 2 p.m. and can be viewed on the
