THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team will look to secure wins this weekend as the Night Hawks host Warner Thursday night before travelling to Babson Park, Fla. Saturday afternoon to face Webber International in SUN Conference play.
Last time out, the Night Hawks (10-13, 4-9 SUN) were two missed baskets away from sitting at 6-7 in conference play and in the driver's seat for the final spot in the SUN postseason tournament. Instead, the Green & White remain a game and a half behind Keiser at 4-9 and will need to win at least two of its final three games to stay in contention. The remaining games between Keiser and Thomas is a positive for the Night Hawks: the Seahawks still need to play top teams #19 Southeastern and Ave Maria, while TU's remaining schedule includes two of three teams that currently sit in last place. Additionally, the Green & White hold the tiebreaker over KU should both teams finish with identical conference records.
Thomas has struggled down the stretch, dropping five of its last six contests, despite playing with mostly seven players since its second meeting against Southeastern. One silver lining of its short depth is the field conversion rate; the Night Hawks averaged .474 over the weekend. Senior Guard
Tim Williamson leads the team in points (13.6) and rebounds (6.3), while Senior Guard
Jordan Booker leads the team in assists (3.9) and steals (3.2).
Warner (2/10)
The Royals (15-10, 9-4 SUN) are roaring into the Rose City with a vengeance, looking to even the score after falling 68-67 earlier in the season at home to the Night Hawks. Warner will virtually be at full strength, as the Royals will have Head Coach Sean Hanrahan back on the bench along with Fifth-Year forward Joc Dickerson. Dickerson currently comes off a back-to-back double-double weekend, as the Fort Myers, Fla. native averages over 53% from the floor and 44% long-range.
Senior Guard Joseph Martz also came off a big weekend, averaging 21.5 points between Southeastern and Keiser. The Orlando, Fla. native will look to have a better performance against the Night Hawks in the Rose City, as Martz was scoreless after putting up 11 within the first five minutes of the team's earlier contest against Thomas.
Thursday marks the 25t h, ever meeting between the Royals and the Night Hawks, as Warner holds a slim 14-10 overall series lead.
Tipoff at TU Gymnasium is set for 7:30 p.m.

Webber International (2/12)
While the Warriors (7-17, 2-10 SUN) may be on life support for a shot at the playoffs, WIU will need to win on out, beginning with its Thursday night matchup against Coastal Georgia before hosting Thomas at home. Since the team's earlier contest with TU, Webber has averaged 61.3 points scored while giving up nearly 75 points a game. Webber will look to get out of its funk, as the team enters Thursday on a seven-game skid, ignited by the 65-51 defeat in the Rose City.
While Jaylon Miles (13.9) and Tiyon Martin (10.3) continue to lead WIU's scoring offense, the Night Hawks will have a tall order in containing the Warriors' big men in the paint. In Thomasville, the Green & White limited Loro Natana to just six points and five boards while shooting 2-for-6, but the Jacksonville, Fla. will be joined by Chinecherem Anukaenyi down low. The Junior out of Nigeria averages 9.7 boards a contest while maintaining a shooting average of 48.6%.
Turnovers have remained an issue for Webber, as the Warriors average 17 turnovers a game.
The Night Hawks can sweep the regular season series over Webber for the fourth time in program history with a win, as Thomas leads the overall series 12-6.
