Night Hawks End Season in Lakeland

Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 4 seed Thomas University Women's soccer team's return trip to the NAIA Tournament lasted only 90 minutes, as No. 1 seed #2 Southeastern blazed past the Night Hawks 3-0 Thursday night at the SEU Soccer Complex.
 
The Fire (16-1-1) turned up the heat on TU (7-6-2) from the jump, scoring two quick goals in the first five minutes of action to go up 2-0.  SEU would score its final goal of the day in the 16th minute to assure a commanding lead.  The Night Hawks did not see its first shot until the 42nd minute, as a scoring chance by Senior Taylor Hults went wide.
 
The second half saw the Night Hawks outshoot the Fire 5-3.  Hults finished the day with two of TU's six shots.
 
Thomas recorded four saves on the night; Freshman Goalkeeper Emily Lamoreaux made three, while Jordin Sanchez registered the last save.
 
The Hunter Green & White concludes its memorable Spring 2021 season at 7-6-2 and will now focus on preparing for a third trip to the NAIA National tourney this Fall, as TU returns to The Sun Conference action.
