THOMASVILLE, GA —The Thomas University women's basketball team will have one final test before Conference play, as the Night Hawks travel to Kennesaw State University on Tuesday for an exhibition contest.
The Night Hawks will look to rebound in the weeknight matchup, after a tough 0-2 weekend saw the ladies fall to both Life and Faulkner University in the annual Faulkner Classic.
In the first contest of the Classic for Thomas, the Night Hawks battled hard against Life University taking the game all the way to the final possession before ultimately coming up short and losing the contest 64-66. Junior transfer Xenia Cavallé had her best game in the Green and White, registering 14 points and hitting three shots from behind the three-point line.
The second contest of the weekend for the Night Hawks did not go as the team would have wanted, as the hosting Eagles from Faulkner University controlled the game from tipoff in a dominating 88-37 win. Junior Amayla Sharif led the way offensively, scoring 12 points and picking up three steals.
Kennesaw State University will host Thomas University for its season and home-opener Tuesday, as the Owls are return their two most-proficient offensive scorers Amani Johnson and Alexis Poole. The two Seniors will look to continue their dominant play from a year ago, where the two averaged a combined 30 points per game, leading the team to the ASUN Conference Tournament.
Tuesday's contest will be the first meeting between the two teams, and, for the first time, KSU is selling courtside seats for women's contests. Prices are $25 a game for courtside for adults, $22.25 if bought online. Adult tickets for women's basketball this season are $7 for walk-up or $5.75 if bought online.
