Box Score 2 MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team took 3-of-4 games from Brewton-Parker College over the past two days. After winning both games Friday, 15-3 and 2-1, Thomas won the first game Saturday, 14-3, but lost the second, 9-1.
Game One
Thomas started hot, scoring five runs in the top of the first inning, then added two in the fourth and one in both the fifth and sixth before Brewton-Parker scored three in the bottom of the sixth. Thomas struck again with five more in the final frame to take the 14-3 win.
Jake Bryan was 3-for-5, connecting on a double and a three-run home run, and scored three times.
Victor Terrero also tagged three hits, including a double and a leadoff homer, and tallied two RBI and a pair of runs scored.
Maury Gonzalez hit two doubles, driving in three runs.
Starting pitcher
Thomas Sorrentino struck out five in 5.0 innings of work to earn the victory. He held Brewton-Parker scoreless despite giving up two hits and walking a pair of batters.
Game Two
After Brewton-Parker scored three in the bottom of the second inning, Thomas plated one in the top of the third. But BPC scored one in the fourth and five in the fifth to win, 9-1.
Bryan tagged a pair of hits, and
Brad Toxen connected on a double for TU.
Caleb Rogers got the starting nod, striking out four, but allowing four runs from five hits in 4.0 innings.

Thomas travels to Jacksonville, Fla., Feb. 11 to face Trinity Baptist College in a double header beginning at 4 p.m. The Night Hawks then return to Varnedoe Stadium Feb. 14-15 to face No. 4 Southeastern in the home opener. First pitch for Friday's game is at 6 p.m., then Saturday's double header begins at noon.
