Box Score 2 MOUNT VERNON, Ga. –
Jorge Meran struck out 15 batters as Thomas University baseball downed Brewton-Parker College, 15-3 and 2-1 Friday afternoon in non-conference action.
Meran sat down 15 of his 24 batters faced in the second game of the day.
The Night Hawks improve to 3-5 overall, and are on a three-game winning streak.
Game One
Thomas scored six runs in the top of the first and never looked back, downing Brewton-Parker 15-3 Friday afternoon.
Brad Toxen jacked a grand slam in the top of the sixth, and
Victor Terrero tagged a pair of doubles to plate three runs for the Night Hawks.
Luis Martinez drew three of the team's nine walks.
On the mound,
Patrick Haley picked up the victory, striking out five while allowing only one earned run from five hits and a pair of walks in 6.0 innings.
Game Two
The Night Hawks again scored first, with one run in the fourth and one in the fifth. B-PC scored one in the seventh, but left one on base, falling 2-1.
Rodwell Munoz,
Jake Bryan and
Maury Gonzalez each had a hit for TU in the second victory of the day.
Jorge Meran shut out B-PC striking out 15 of his 24 batters faced. He only allowed two hits and walked three in his 6.0-inning start.
Hassan Westbrook picked up the save, allowing one run from two hits while striking out two in 1.0 inning.
