Jorge Meran struck out 10 Royals to lead the Night Hawks to a 3-1 victory over No. 19 Warner University Friday night.
Meran (5-3) struck out 10, and allowed just one run from seven hits and five walks in 7.0 innings.
Thomas improves to 19-18 overall and 5-8 in the Sun Conference, while Warner drops to 29-14, 9-7.
TU outhit the Royals 10-7 and Warner committed a pair of fielding errors. The TU pitching staff did not allow an extra base hit, while the Night Hawks tagged a pair of triples and a trio of doubles.

Luis Martinez drew a pair of walks and had one hit.
Caleb Rogers came in for 2.0 innings of relief on the mound striking out three and holding Warner without a hit.
Heller's triple to left center plated TU's first run in the top of the fourth, then Warner tied the game in the bottom of the fifth. Left fielder Maury Gonzalez singled to right in the sixth to put the Night Hawks ahead, then Heller's triple to left in the eighth secured the 3-1 win for Thomas.
The teams conclude the three-game series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon.
