BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Coastal Georgia, which is receiving votes in the latest Top 25 poll, snapped Thomas' four-game win streak on Saturday afternoon with a 74-69 win in Sun Conference (TSC) action inside Coffin Gym. The Night Hawks lost their first game in 31 days, a contest that featured 12 ties and 13 lead changes.

Johnnel Ginnie layup at the 6:07 mark of the second half put Thomas (9-8, 4-5 TSC) up 64-62, but Jonathan Canada's 3-pointer on the next trip down the court for Coastal Georgia (13-6, 5-4 TSC) began a 7-0 run.
Katrell Myers converted two free throws with 1:28 left to trim the deficit to 69-66, but a trey from Deontrae Dixon put the Mariners back up by two possessions 19 seconds later.
Coastal Georgia led by eight in the first half after Vidmantas Kaciuska made a 3-point shot at the 12:46 mark, but Thomas responded with a 9-0 run following a Myers jumper. Brandon Martin knocked down three foul shots to give Coastal Georgia a 33-28 advantage with 2:07 remaining in the half before the Night Hawks finished the period scoring six-straight, with the last bucket coming from Myers with three seconds on the clock, to carry a 34-33 lead into the break.
Haylen Washington, the reigning TSC and NAIA Player of the Week, scored 18 points, and Jaylen Smallwood added 14 for the home team. Washington and Smallwood each grabbed seven rebounds.
JaVoris Cooks tallied 14 points, while Ginnie and Myers each had 13.
Jakari Bush scored eight points. Myers also had seven boards.
Coastal Georgia shot 43.1 percent (25-for-58) from the field.Â
Thomas was 35.6 percent (21-of-59) from the floor and 19-of-26 from the line.Â
