MOBILE, Ala. - No. 13 Mobile (Ala.) defeated Thomas, 3-1, on Friday evening at The Jungle. The Night Hawks lost for just the fourth time in their last 14 road matches.
Newton Henry (3) gave Mobile (4-1) a 1-0 edge in the 30th minute off a long pass from Nathan Gillespie.Â
Leo Thompson (6) tied the game at one in the 35th minute when he beat Ram netminder Guilherme Altoe. Thompson has scored in five-straight matches for Thomas (1-4).
However, Gillespie (2) tallied what proved to be the game-winner in the 52nd minute with help from John Jacob Plumbar and Paul Ledsham. Casey Culver (5) added an insurance goal in the 66th minute with an assist from Henry.
"We are being penalized for not being able to do little things correctly," Thomas coach
Ricky Zambrano said. "We had a very sound performance for 60 minutes, but we must play for 90."
Henry and Culver each had three shots on goal.
Thompson ended with a career-high 10 shots. He and
Malcom Frago Mayers recorded three shots on goal apiece. The mark was a career-high for Frago Mayers, while Thompson's feat tied a career-high after reaching the mark against Georgia Gwinnett on Nov. 19, 2016.
Altoe (4-1) picked up six saves in 90 minutes.

Three Rams were whistled for cautions.
