ABOUT THOMAS

The Night Hawks are coming off a 2-1 overtime win over SCAD Savannah (Ga.) on Wednesday in conference play at Remington Park's Lewis Hall Singletary Soccer Park.

Gavin Rochford-Smith scored both goals for Thomas, including a golden goal in the 93rd minute. The Night Hawks have won three of the last four meetings.

After a three-hour lightning delay forced the match to be moved three miles off campus, Rochford-Smith gave Thomas a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute when he beat Bee netminder Joe Parker from 10 yards out.

Despite SCAD Savannah being a man down for the final 17:49 following Cian Lynch's second yellow card Wednesday, the Bees tied the affair in the 89th minute on a free kick from 25 yards away.

However, Rochford-Smith (3) played the role of hero 2:35 into extra frame on a one-timer from 16 yards out.

Rochford-Smith recorded two shots on goal, while four Night Hawks had one apiece.

Goalkeeper Lee Howarth made two stops in 92:35 for the win.

Thomas outshot the visitors, 9-5, and held an edge in corner kicks, 4-3.

ABOUT WARNER

The Royals are coming off a 2-1 loss at home to Montreat (N.C.) on Wednesday in non-conference action.

Warner scored first in the 27th minute when Rainer de Jesus found the back of the net off of the assist from Devyn Hencil. Nine later, the Cavaliers answered with a goal and took the lead for good in the 44th minute.

Goalkeeper Christian De Souza played 90 minutes and was credited with eight saves in the loss.

The Royals have alternated wins and losses in their last four games.

De Jesus and Daniel Rodriguez are tied for the team lead in goals with five.

Miguel Ardilla ranks 10th in the NAIA in saves per game (7).

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST THE ROYALS

No. 6 Thomas generated a 3-0 win at Warner on Oct. 1, 2016.

Jarrod Ingram scored the first two goals. He netted the first goal in the 34th minute with an assist from Severin Abt and scored his second at the 70th minute mark. Garrett Dunton added another insurance goal in the 88th minute with an assist from Juan Figueroa.

Howarth collected four saves in the shutout win.

SUDDEN DEATH

Following Wednesday's win, coach Ricky Zambrano's group improved to 9-0-3 in their last 12 games that have gone into extra time.

Two others - Bryan (Tenn.) and Johnson & Wales (Fla.) - are receiving votes. The Night Hawks are 0-3 against the top 25 this season, having lost to then-No. 11 Bryan, then-No. 13 Mobile and then-No. 17 Saint Thomas (the home match against then-No. 23 Lindsey Wilson was suspended in the second half due to lightning with the game tied at two).
