THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas University baseball team will host Sun Conference foe Ave Maria University in a three game set, on Friday and Saturday, seeking to climb into TSC tournament contention.
Thomas (13-24, 1-11 TSC) saw their losing streak extend to seven games with losses to NAIA #6 Auburn University – Montgomery on Wednesday, 6-1, and NCAA D2 Georgia Southwestern University on Tuesday, 5-3. Senior
Matthew Brady continues to lead the Hunter Green and White in batting average (.381), while sophomore
Jalbert Melo leads the team in runs batted in (33). Junior pitcher
Jordan Martin (2-5) leads TU in strikeouts (52).
The Gyrenes (14-26, 2-12 TSC) are looking to rebound after losing seven straight, which includes TSC sweeps at the hands of Southeastern University and Keiser University. AMU will rely on junior pitcher Austin Munn (2-4) to lead the way. Munn leads the pitching staff in both earned run average (3.53) and strikeouts (46).
First pitch at Varnedoe Stadium is set for 5 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. Saturday.
