St. Thomas Knocks off Night Hawks on Senior Day

Box Score THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team end their 2016 season with an 8-1 loss against St. Thomas on Saturday at Varnedoe Stadium.

The Night Hawks end the season with a 20-30, 7-17 Sun Conference record, while the Bobcats finished the regular season at 33-18, 16-8.

St. Thomas recorded back-to-back RBI singles in the first inning that became the winning runs in the game. Oscar Aguirre jacked a three-run homerun in the fourth inning that extended the Bobcats lead to 5-0.

JR Cruess scored the lone run for the Night Hawks with a solo homerun to left field.

The Bobcats added one run in the seventh and two in the ninth that ended the scoring.

Neal Hunter gathered the loss on two innings pitched with two runs on three hits and struck out four.

Cruess, Alan Baker, Hunter, Kris Lee, Tyler Leach, Nick Riley and Zach Tutak all ended their Thomas University careers on Saturday.
