Night Hawks Split with St. Thomas

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team split a twin bill with St. Thomas, took game one 10-4 and lost game two 11-6, on Friday at Vernedoe Stadium.

The Night Hawks fell to 20-29, 7-16 in The Sun Conference, while the Bobcats improved to 32-18, 15-8 on the season. The teams play a rubber match Saturday at noon at Vernedoe Stadium.

GAME ONE
The Night Hawks used a five-run fourth inning to capture the victory. Gant Highsmith singled through the right side of the infield that drove in two RBI's and became the winning runs. TU added two runs in fifth and seventh innings that completed the scoring. Jordan Martin threw a complete game with four runs on seven hits and struck out seven.

GAME TWO
Thomas tacked on five runs in the first inning and held a 5-1 lead. Highsmith then homered to left field in the third that ended the Night Hawks scoring. St. Thomas responded in the seven with five runs in part to a grand slam by Michael Centeno that plated the winning runs. David Wood started with six innings pitched, three runs on 10 hits and struck out three, while Tate Lambert held the loss on one inning of work with five runs on three hits and struck out two.
