THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas University baseball team will be on the road all week, taking on Trinity Baptist College, in Jacksonville, Fla., on Tuesday, followed by a weekend Sun Conference series in West Palm Beach, Fla., against #19 Keiser University.
The Night Hawks (16-24, 4-11 TSC) come off a TSC series sweep over Ave Maria University. Against the Gyrenes, in game two of the series, junior pitcher
Neal Hunter (2-4) struck out 13 over seven innings in a no decision. Sophomore
Jalbert Melo leads the Night Hawks in Batting (.354) and Runs Batted In (37).
Trinity Baptist (10-23) will travel to Lakeland, Fla. on Monday to take on Southeastern University before heading back home for their final home game of the season Tuesday. Thomas won two games in a three game series against Trinity Baptist earlier this season.
Keiser (27-16, 10-6 TSC) has lost eight of their last eleven games, including a TSC series sweep by Warner their last time out. They will host a Tuesday twin bill with St. Thomas before facing the Night Hawks Friday and Saturday. Junior Keivan Berges leads the team in batting averages (.397) and runs batted in (53). Berges' RBI's also leads the Sun Conference and is a third best in NAIA. The Wellington, Fla. native is sixth in NAIA in home runs (13).
First pitch against TBC is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday. First pitch against Keiser in the Friday doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. and Saturday's single game is slated for 12 p.m.
