THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas University baseball team is set to host Edward Waters College on Tuesday, followed by a return to Sun Conference action, this upcoming weekend, when they travel to Babson Park, Fla., to battle Webber International University in a three game set.
On Tuesday, TU (12-17, 1-8 TSC) will be back on to the diamond after being off for a week due to their cancelled three-game TSC series against St. Thomas University originally scheduled for this past Friday & Saturday. Senior Matt Brady leads TU with a .371 batting average. Sophomore

Edward Waters (13-10) comes to Varnedoe Stadium with confidence. The Tigers have won five of their last six games, including a double header split with TSC leading USC-Beaufort. Sophomore outfielder Miguel Beltre leads EWC in batting average (.373) and runs batted in (19). The Tigers will rely on sophomore pitcher Frederick Belz (2-1) leads the team in earned run average (5.09) and shares the lead for strikeouts (10).
Webber International (18-11, 3-4 TSC) will stop by Thomas B. Southard Stadium in Saint Leo, Fla., on Tuesday, to play NCAA Division II opponent Saint Leo University before hosting the Night Hawks. The Warriors are a strong-hitting team; WIU ranks ninth in the NAIA in total triples (12) and is 24th in total doubles (54). Senior catcher Ramon Sanchez leads the team in batting average (.382) and runs batted in (24). Senior pitcher Colin Richardson leads the Warriors with four wins while senior Taylor Layner leads the staff with 38 strikeouts.
First pitch at Varnedoe Stadium is set for 1 p.m., while first pitch at Heart of Florida Medical Regional Center Stadium is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
