THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas University baseball team will look to turn the tides this week, when they host NCAA D2 Georgia Southwestern University on Tuesday and Sun Conference foe Southeastern University in a three-game series on Friday and Saturday.
The Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort provided a reality check for the Night Hawks (3-6, 0-3 TSC) as USCB swept the series Friday and Saturday in Bluftton, S.C. Thomas, at home the remainder of February, will look to use their schedule as a means to get back to its winning ways. Senior catcher

Tanner Elsbernd share the team lead in total hits (11), while Cruess leads all batters with a .407 batting average. Elsbernd and sophomore outfielder
Jalbert Melo lead the team with eight runs batted in.
GSW (8-0), is undefeated in the early going of the 2016 season. Sophomore catcher Dakota Long leads the Canes in hits (13) and batting average (.448). Senior pitcher Earl Dupree (2-0) has only allowed seven hits and no runs, while sophomore pitcher Jordan McIlwain has allowed six hits and one run.
Southeastern (10-5) will open their TSC schedule in Thomasville, Ga., with a double header on Friday. Junior infielder Chris Mattison leads his team in RBIs (19) and batting average (.556). Junior infielder Luis Diaz leads the NAIA in total runs scored (16) and leads the Fire in stolen bases (10).
First pitch for Tuesday at Varnedoe Stadium, is set for 5 p.m., while first pitch against Southeastern, on Friday, is slated for 3 p.m. and 12 p.m. Saturday.
