THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas University baseball team will open up Sun Conference play in Bluftton, S.C., when they face the University of South Carolina-Beaufort in a three-game series on Friday and Saturday.
Thomas (3-3) will look to set the early tone in TSC play. Junior outfielder
Tanner Long (.533 BA) leads the team in total hits (8) and stolen bases (3). Sophomore outfielder
Jalbert Melo (.286 BA) is the team leader in RBIs (8). On the mound, junior starting pitcher
Jordan Martin (1-0) is off to a solid start allowing only six hits and one run over twelve innings, sporting a 0.75 ERA.
The Sand Sharks (4-1) come off a series sweep over Truett-McConnell. Senior pitcher Forrest Kirsch (1-0) has yet to allow a run when at the mound. Junior infielder Max Balter's batting average (.421) has been a headache for opposing pitchers, while junior Kal Davis leads the team in total RBIs (6).
Friday's first pitch is set for 1 p.m. On Saturday, first pitch for game one of the double header is set for 11 a.m.
