Box Score The Night Hawks (24-16, 15-7) routed the visiting Warner University Royals (18-24-2, 8-14), 12-2, in a seven inning run rule decision on Friday afternoon at Varnedoe Stadium in the opener of a three game Sun Conference series.
TU jumped all over Warner right from the start scoring five runs in the bottom of the first. They followed that with two in the second and the fourth to make it a 9-0 game. WU scored two in their half of the fifth to close the gap but Thomas bounced back with two in the bottom of the inning and a single run in the sixth to make it a ten run game. TU kept Warner off the board in the seventh to secure the run rule win. Senior catcher

Josh Bruijn (1-3, R, 2 RBI, 2B) and sophomore third baseman
Tyler Palmer (3-4, 3 R, 2 RBI, HR) each drove in two runs. Palmer connected on a two run home run in the fifth inning. The Night Hawks took advantage of control problems by the Warner pitchers, drawing seven walks. Junior starting pitcher
