Thomas Women's Basketball (9-17, 5-10) completed their inaugural home slate with a 67-52 victory over Warner University (15-11, 6-10), Wednesday evening at the TU Gymnasium.

Sloppy played ruled the early going as the teams exchanged fouls, turnovers and missed baskets. Warner finally broke thru with the game's opening basket at the 17:10 mark. Junior guard Jessica Anderson got the Lady Night Hawks on the board with a three pointer, at the 15:59 mark to give TU the lead. After two free throws by Warner, junior guard Miracle Watts knocked another three for the Lady Night Hawks to give them a 6-4 advantage. With 14:16 to play, junior guard Christina Wynn extended TU's lead to 9-4 with the team's third consecutive three to open the game. Thomas continued their 3-PT barrage with their fourth of the evening when freshman guard Shaunice Bennett connected from downtown to give TU a 14-8 advantage. The teams battled back and forth to close out the low scoring 24-17 half of play combing to shoot 21% from the field.

TU and Warner exchanged three pointers to open the second half of play. Thomas opened their largest lead of the game, 37-25, with 14:32 to play on the strength of 5-5 shooting, knocking down two 3 pointers along the way. Wynn's second 3 pointer of the game, with 11:58 to play, made it a 44-25 game. After a WU free throw, a steal and a bucket by Anderson, one minute and forty two seconds later, stretched TU's lead to twenty. The Lady Night Hawks closed out the 15 point win by shooting 55% from the field in the second half. Junior forward Taylor Britt finished with a game high 14 points. Watts (13), Wynn (11), and Anderson (10) all finished the game with double digit scoring.

The Lady Night Hawks conclude their inaugural regular season on Saturday February 22nd in Babson Park, Fla. as they wrap up Sun Conference play against Webber International University. Game time is slated for 2 p.m. TU will need a win and some help, from other TSC results, in order to secure the 6th overall seed at the 2014 TSC Tournament.
