EXCUSE ME!: Ethan Moore Evades Two Defenders En Rout To A Score

Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Sam Corbett

Thomas Ends Regular Season With 4-0 Win Over Andrew

CUTHBERT, Ga. - The Thomas University men's soccer program wrapped up its regular season with a 4-0 taming of the Andrew College Fighting Tigers on Saturday afternoon. Ethan Moore's third brace in four games was half of the offense alongside Joseph Crick strike and a a Will Nye penalty kick, while Edward Sack orchestrated a pair of assists.

Sack first connected with Moore after the eighth minute to push Thomas in front with an early lead. Early aggression for Billy Jeffery's boys picked up with five shots and a pair of corner kicks before the 40th frame. Sack took possession again and found Crick, whose offering went beyond the goalkeeper to double the advantage for the junior's first score of the season. A penalty kick from Moore would be saved a few minutes later to send TU to the half with a 2-0 lead.

The Night Hawks took eight shots in both the first and second halves, while the defense muzzled Andrew to just one first-half shot against Kameron Kirksey (3-1) in net.

Thomas was kept off the board for the first portion of the latter half before a foul against the Fighting Tigers gave Will Nye a chance to cash in a penalty kick. The senior struck home his third score of the season to extend the lead to three. Attempts from Moore and Ben O'Connor were denied before Euan Whitty laced the ball through the defense to Moore in the 85th minute for the 4-0 advantage.

The Night Hawks would try one final shot from Tomas Arriaza Jr. before the horn blared, signaling the road victory for TU. Ethan Moore ends his regular season with 15 goals; tied for second in the SSAC. Edward Sack notched his eighth and ninth assists on the afternoon.

Thomas (8-10, 4-7 SSAC) awaits Sunday's result between Dalton State and Blue Mountain Christian to determine its future. Holding the tiebreaker over the Toppers, Jeffery needs the Roadrunners to win to send TU to the first round of the SSAC Championship on Oct. 30. as the eighth and final seed.
