Night Hawks Compete in Second Indoor Meet of the Season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Night Hawks turned in several solid performances Friday at the Alachua County Invitational, highlighted by personal-best efforts from Landon Watts and strong showings in the men's jumping events.

Watts posted two new personal bests in the distance races, finishing 13th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:14.25 before placing 14th in the 1,000 meters in 2:44.25. Glenn Walker added a 29th-place finish in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 10:26.15.

In the field events, Ean Miller led the way for the Night Hawks. Miller placed ninth in the high jump after clearing 1.95 meters (6 feet, 4.75 inches) and finished 11th in the long jump with a mark of 6.65 meters (21-10). Jerry Speights competed in both horizontal jumps, finishing 23rd in the long jump at 6.18 meters (20-3.5) and 12th in the triple jump with a leap of 13.24 meters (43-5.25).

Jadon Parker recorded a 14th-place finish in the shot put, posting a throw of 11.91 meters (39-1).

On the track, Jayson Evans finished tied for 47th in the 200 meters in 23.39 seconds and placed 63rd in the 400 meters with a time of 56.83. Fabian Jeune finished 18th in the 600 meters in 1:36.37 and placed 65th in the 200 meters in 24.56 seconds.

The Night Hawks will return to Gainesville in their last three events of the indoor season.
