Thomas Competes in the Alice Coachman Invitational

ALBANY, Ga. — Several personal-best performances and a new school record highlighted a strong showing by the Thomas University men's track and field team Saturday at the Alice Coachman Invitational.

Thomas University claimed the top finish of the meet in the 10,000 meters, as Landon Watts captured first place with a winning time of 39:06.92, controlling the race throughout.

In the field events, Connor Munn delivered a standout performance, setting a new school record in the shot put with a throw of 13.55 meters, good for fourth place overall. Munn also recorded a new personal best in the discus, posting a mark of 38.74 meters. Jadon Parker added throws of 10.96 meters in the shot put and 36.22 meters in the discus.

The triple jump featured another highlight for the Night Hawks, with Jerry Speights placing second after posting a new personal-best jump of 14.28 meters (46'10.25"). Ean Miller followed with a sixth-place finish at 13.38 meters (43'10.75").

On the track, Nelson Lopez turned in an impressive effort in the 800 meters, finishing third with a personal-best time of 1:59.03. Fabian Jeune also set a personal best in the event, crossing the line in 2:15.75, while Glenn Walker placed 18th at 2:31.65. Walker also competed in the 1500 meters, recording a time of 5:00.05.

In sprint action, Jayson Evans led Thomas University in the 100 meters, finishing 10th with a time of 11.05 seconds, while Aaron Wilson posted 12.17. Evans, Speights, Wilson, and Miller combined for an eighth-place finish in the 4x100 relay, clocking 45.16.

The meet concluded with the 4x400 relay, where Lopez (52.59), Speights (51.09), Evans (54.14), and Jeune (60.25) teamed up to place sixth overall with a time of 3:38.44 across two heats.

Thomas University returns to action at the Southern States Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, scheduled for Monday, April 20, through Tuesday, April 21, in Gulf Shores, Alabama
