GAINESVILLE , Fla. – The Night Hawks delivered strong performances at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational, highlighted by personal bests and solid finishes across multiple events.
In the mile run, Landon Watts placed 9th with a time of 4:37.55, setting a new personal best. Glenn Walker followed with a time of 5:08.43, finishing 23rd.
Watts continued his success in the 800 meters, recording another personal best with a time of 2:05.23, finishing 19th. Walker also competed in the event, placing 28th with a time of 2:22.82.
In sprint events, Jerry Speights competed in three disciplines. He finished 35th in the 60 meters with a time of 7.60, placed 45th in the 200 meters at 24.30, and earned an 11th-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.17 meters (20'3").
Fabian Jeune represented well in the 400 meters, finishing 30th with a time of 54.88.
Thomas travels back to the Alachua County Events Center at Celebration Pointe to compete in Alachua County Invitational on Friday, January 23rd.
