THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Thomas Night Hawks used a strong second half to pull away from ABAC Stallions, securing an 86-73 victory on Saturday afternoon at home.
The Night Hawks shot 50.8 percent from the field and dominated the glass with a 42-30 rebounding advantage.
Noah Lattin led the way with 16 points and nine rebounds, while
Andre Lightbourne added 15 points, including three three-pointers.
Tyson Anderson contributed 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench as Thomas' reserves outscored ABAC's bench 44-11.
Thomas held a narrow 39-31 lead at halftime but took control early in the second half, stretching the advantage to as many as 24 points with 13:43 remaining. The Night Hawks' defense forced nine turnovers while limiting the Stallions to just 23.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
Matthew Mairena paced the Stallions with a game-high 19 points and seven assists. Xavier Boyd and Nate Mobley added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Armani Thomas contributed five points, five rebounds, and four assists for Thomas, while
Deonta Jones chipped in nine points and a game-high seven assists.
Before the game Lattin, Lightbourne,
Devin Baney,
Atraiel Washington and
Jailin Lee were honored for Senior Day as it was the final home game for each of them as Night Hawks.
The Night Hawks now look forward to the SSAC Conference Championship Tournament as they take on last year's champions the Loyola Wolfpack on Wednesday, February 26th at 10:45 AM CST / 11:45 AM EST.
