Thomas falls to Faulkner

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas Night Hawks struggled to regain its offensive rhythm after a strong first quarter, falling to Faulkner on Saturday afternoon at TU Gym.

Thomas jumped out to an 18-12 lead after the opening period, but the visiting Eagles responded with a dominant second quarter, outscoring the Night Hawks 28-11 to take control of the game.

Despite a game-high 23-point effort from Ruthie Smith, who also grabbed 19 rebounds, Thomas could not overcome
Faulkner's defensive pressure. Smith shot 7-of-22 from the field and drained three 3-pointers.

Jasmyn Studamire and Kennedy Collins added 13 points each, with Collins connecting on three shots from beyond the arc. Latarius Montgomery anchored the defense with four blocks and nine rebounds.

Faulkner was also led by Nequoia Adams, who finished with 14 points and four assists. Keyarra Scottland and Dee Guinn chipped in 12 and 9 points, respectively, while the Eagles forced 22 Thomas turnovers.

The Night Hawks managed just eight points in the final quarter as Faulkner pulled away late. Thomas shot 35.8 percent from the field and struggled from three-point range, converting only 5-of-24 attempts.

Thomas will look to bounce back when they go on the road to face Middle Georgia on Wednesday, February 19th at 5:30PM
