THOMASVILLE, Ga. (Feb. 15, 2025) — The Thomas Night Hawks built an early lead but could not hold on, falling to Faulkner University Eagles in a tightly contested conference matchup Saturday afternoon at the TU Gym.
The Night Hawks surged ahead with a dominant first half, outscoring Faulkner 44-35 behind strong perimeter shooting and defensive pressure. However, the visiting Eagles responded in the second half, tightening their defense and capitalizing on Thomas' offensive struggles to complete the comeback.
Jailin Lee led the Night Hawks with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including two three-pointers.
Armani Thomas contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while
Andre Lightbourne and
Atraiel Washington each added eight points. Thomas shot 43.1 percent from the field but struggled at the free-throw line, converting just 50 percent (8-of-16).
Faulkner was paced by KJ Rogers, who poured in a game-high 22 points, including 18 in the second half. The Eagles shot 37.9 percent from the field but made up for it at the free-throw line, converting 76.9 percent (20-of-26).
Thomas led by as many as 13 points in the first half before Faulkner closed the gap in the final minutes before halftime.
The Eagles continued their momentum into the second half, outscoring the Night Hawks 34-23 while holding them without a field goal for a crucial late-game stretch.
Thomas will look to bounce back on the road next week when they face conference rival Middle Georgia Knights on Wednesday, February 19th at 7:30PM
