MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2025-26 SSAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week. LaTarius Montgomery of Thomas was named SSAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. The award is for the week of Dec. 1-7.
  
Defensive: LaTarius Montgomery (Thomas – SR – C – Eutaw, Ala.)

• This is her third-career honor
• Montgomery averaged 13.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per game in a 1-1 SSAC week
• In a win over Life, she swatted seven shots, grabbed eight boards and tallied 20 points

Montgomery averaged a double-double on the 1-1 week. She posted a career high in blocks in the SSAC Game of the Week against Life with seven. Montgomery achieved her 11th double-digit rebound game this season. The senior ended the week averaging 13.5 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and four blocks. The Eutaw, Ala. native is currently ranked 1st in the NAIA in both total rebounds and defensive rebounds,ranked 5th in the NAIA in offensive rebounds, and ranked 12th in the NAIA in total blocks. This marks the most player of the week awards for one player in a single season.
