THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Night Hawks took on the Life University Running Eagles in a SSAC matchup on Thursday evening at the TU Gym.
Thomas jumped out to a six-point lead early with big contributions from
Jasmyn Studamire who scored the first points of the game with a layup and
Aaliyah Ringold and
Kennedy Collins both knocked down a three to add onto the total. The Running Eagles answered back with a layup and a couple of three-pointers of their own, cutting the lead to one, but then
Kennedy Hayes answered with a three, to bring lead up to four, then Studamire and
Tieraney Bolton drained a couple of layups to extend it to eight. However, Life went on a 7-0 run to end the quarter only down one.
The Running Eagles took the lead into the second but they did not hold it for long as Ringold knocked down a floater to go back up one. Both teams struggled to score until the 6:55 mark, when Life hit a three to take the lead back. However, Thomas responded with a Latarius Montgomery layup to tie the game at 20. Life took the lead back off a layup and continued to hold the lead for the rest of the game, but the Night Hawks fought to end.
