THOMASVILLE, Ga- The Night hawks gave it their all, but fell to #2 Dalton State Roadrunners on Saturday afternoon at the TU Soccer Complex.
In a matchup where Thomas faced their 4th ranked opponent in the last five games. This proved to be their toughest opponent to date. The Night Hawks started out aggressive with three shots on goal by
Cameron Hawkins (2) and
Connor Parry (1) in the first six minutes of action. Dalton State responded with three shots of their own before getting one in the net in the 25th minute. The Roadrunners tried to add more to their lead but the Night Hawks stood strong to keep the game 1-0 going into the half.
The second period, Thomas jumped on the attack with a shot from
James Hall that went high, before Dalton State scored again to extend the deficit to two. The Night Hawks continued to bring the aggression, but the Roadrunners stonewalled any attempts to get a shot off for the rest of the half. Dalton State scored a third goal in the 82nd to put Thomas away.
The Night Hawks will face another ranked conference opponent in (RV) UT Southern at home on Thursday, September 26th at 4:30 PM.
