Blue Mountain, MS - The Thomas University Women's Basketball Team (5-20, 3-14) traveled to take on Blue Mountain Christian University (6-17, 3-12) on Saturday afternoon.
The first half of play would be low scoring for the Night Hawks, as they would only produce 16 points in two quarters of action. Their effort on defense would hold the Toppers to 26 points in the half. Within the first half, Thomas would connect on 6 field goals, with three of them being from behind the arc.
In the third quarter, the Night Hawks would outscore the Toppers 17-15. In this quarter, Thomas would connect on two three pointers, compared to the Toppers' zero. Heading into the final quarter in regulation, Thomas would find themselves trailing by eight points. The Night Hawks would produce just six points in the first 7 minutes of the fourth period, allowing the Toppers to further increase the deficit to 15 points. The Night Hawks would not be able to catch up, and Blue Mountain would take the victory, 61-41.
Dejah Wilson recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 steals. Jade Studamire recorded 11 points and 4 rebounds.
