COCHRAN, Ga. – The Night Hawks overpowered the Knights offensively with a 4-0 result in a must-win contest at Nesmith Field on Thursday evening.
Connor Parry put the game away with his first goal of the season in the 18
th minute after a
James Hall corner got to a
Pablo Novoa header who connect with
Findlay Cook who set up a brilliant opportunity for Parry to chip the ball into the net.
Novoa got a goal of his own in the 36
th minute with help from
Santiago Viel.
Camilo Penafiel added a goal all by himself to open the second half and bring the Night Hawks up 3-0 in the 48
th minute. Edward sack added to the total with the first goal of his collegiate career off of a cross from the captain
Alex Ruane for the penultimate score of the match.
Thomas had 19 shots with seven on target.
Jorge Gonzalez played all 90 minutes and had two saves in his 10
th career clean sheet.
Thomas sits in 7
th place in the SSAC standings with three matches left to play. The Night Hawks (4-6-2, 3-4 SSAC) return to action at TU complex after a month long stretch of away games. The next contest scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST against conference foe Brewton Parker (1-12-1, 0-6 SSAC).
