Thomasville, GA |Â The Thomas University Softball Team has released their 2024 schedule, and it is highlighted by 18 home games and two in-season tournaments. Coach
Jessica Sanders anticipates the upcoming season and is looking to improve from the 2023 finish of 23-23 overall, and 11-13 in conference play.  The Night Hawks will be moving to a new conference for the season, the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which is comprised of teams from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Within the SSAC, the Night Hawks will face three conference opponents who are ranked in the NAIA Softball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll.Â

The Night Hawks will begin their season at home on February, 3
rd, against (RV) Truett McConnell University. The match-up will feature a doubleheader with games at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.

Their next three series of games will be on the road, as the Night Hawks will play a total of six games in a three-day span. Each contest in the stretch will feature a doubleheader against a former Sun Conference rival. The Night Hawks will first travel to Lake Wales, FL to face off against Warner University on February, 9
th. On the following day, Thomas will head to Lakeland, FL to take on #22 Southeastern University. On the final day, February, 11
th, Thomas will compete against Webber University in Babson Park, FL.

One week later, the Night Hawks will travel to Columbus, GA to compete in the NFCA NAIA Leadoff Classic. On the opening day of the tournament, February, 16
th, Thomas will face Lawrence Tech and Georgetown. On the following day, the Night Hawks will play #20 Freed-Hardeman and (RV) Embry Riddle.Â

Following their participation in the tournament, the Night Hawks will return to action and the road on February, 23, to take on a familiar Sun Conference rival, #18 College of Coastal Georgia, in Brunswick, GA in a doubleheader. On the following day, the Night Hawks will return home to play another doubleheader against #21 Reinhardt University.Â

The Night Hawks will then travel to Gulf Shores, AL to compete in the Gulf Shores Invitational Tournament, spanning from March, 1 – March, 3.  In the tournament, the Night Hawks will play five games.Â

The next nine series of games will feature SSAC doubleheader play. The Night Hawks will begin conference play in Cochran, GA on March, 8
th against #16 Middle Georgia State University. On March, 9
th, they will return home to Armory Field to face Brewton-Parker University. In the following weekend, the Night Hawks will return to the road to take on Faulkner University on March, 15
th, and Point University on March,16
th. On March, 21
st, the Night Hawks will travel to Mobile, AL to face off against #12 University of Mobile. On the following day, they will face #23 William Carey in Hattiesburg, MS. The Night Hawks will then return home for the next three SSAC series. On March, 29
th they will face Stillman College, followed by The University of Tennessee Southern on April, 5
th, and capped with Blue Mountain Christian on April, 6
th.Â
In the following weekend, the Night Hawks will travel to Lawrenceville, GA to take on #4 Georgia Gwinnett in a non-conference, doubleheader match-up.

The Night Hawks will conclude their regular-season schedule with four SSAC doubleheaders. On April, 19
th, they will face #16 Middle Georgia State University at Armory Field. On the following day, they will travel to Mt. Vernon, GA to face Brewton Parker University. Then, they will return home to face Faulkner University on April, 26
th. Regular-season will conclude on April, 27
th, as the Night Hawks will host Point University on senior day.

The Southern States Athletic Conference Championships will take place May 2-5, in Decatur, AL.Â
