The Thomas University Women's Soccer team traveled to Marietta, Georgia to take on Life University Saturday evening.
Life University (7-2-0, 5-0-0) did not take long to get on the board with a goal nine minutes into the game. They would find another goal in the 25th minute, and add an additional one in the 40th minute to take a 3-0 lead going into the half.
Life would enter the half leading both teams in total shots, taking thirteen compared to Thomas' 4. Thomas (5-5-1, 3-1-1) would tally seven saves compared to Life's two. The Running Eagles had six corner kick opportunities.Â
In the second period, Life would strike early once again and score in the 46th minute. Four minutes later, Thomas would quickly answer. Pearl Mortimer would find Sasha Manders to get the Night Hawks on the scoreboard. However, Life would answer by adding two more goals of their own in the 58th and 66th minute of the match. Then, Alicia MacLeod would answer with a goal in the 85th minute, assisted by Sasha Manders.
Thomas finished the game with nine total shots and five on goal. While the Running Eagles would take twenty three total shots with sixteen on goal. Thomas would tally ten saves and three corner kicks.
The Night Hawks will be back on the pitch this upcoming Thursday for a SSAC matchup at Middle Georgia. The game is set to start at 5:30pm.Â
