Thomas defeated future Southern States Athletic Conference foe Brewton-Parker, 5-4, at Varnedoe Stadium.
How It Happened
Brewton-Parker opened the scoring in the first inning with two run, off of a double and a sacrifice fly. Thomas cut that lead in half when
Bradley Fleenor single to center field to drive-in
Kason Buie. The Barons would add an additional run in the 2nd inning.
Thomas would break out the hit sticks in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
Matthew Delay Jr. would lead off the inning with a double, and then advance to 3rd base on a wild pitch. Two batters later,
Cam Williams would hit a towering homerun to left-center field to tie the score at 3-3. Two batters after that,
Luis Rodriguez-Gallo would knock a line-drive homerun, to left field, to give the Night Hawks the lead, 4-3.
Thomas would add an important insurance run in the 6th inning.
Michael Sowers reached 1st base on an error. Delay would double home Sowers, one batter later to increase the lead to 5-3. Brewton-Parker would add a run in the 8th inning, to cut the lead to 5-4, in favor of Thomas.
Savian Loor would then come on to shut down the Barons, to pick up the save for the Night Hawks.

A doubleheader will occur on Friday, with the first game at 1 PM and the second game scheduled to begin at approximately 4 PM. Saturday will be senior day, with the game scheduled to begin at 1 PM. Senior Day activities will begin at approximately 12:40 PM.
