Night Hawks Drop Finale at Florida Memorial

The Night Hawks dropped the final game of the series to the Florida Memorial Lions, 6-4, in an early morning game in Miami Gardens, FL.  The loss drops Thomas to one game below .500 in the conference standings, and leave the Night Hawks in fifth place.

Thomas fell behind early, once again, to the Lions, giving up two runs in the first inning.  Thomas got on the board in the 2nd inning, when Jaelynn Vialpando scored via an error.  The Lions would add two more runs in the 3rd inning, when Florida Memorial scored on a inside-the-park homerun, their second inside-the-park homerun of the series.

The Night Hawks would creep back into the game, led by a one-out double by Addyson Mauldin, who later scored.  Faith Graben, who was the courtesy runner for Vialpando, scored on an Emma Alley sacrifice fly, to cut the Lions lead to 5-3.

Florida Memorial would add another run in the bottom of the 5th inning.  In the 7th inning, Vialpando would lead off with her third hit of the day, and come around to score on a Elizabeth Soto sacrifice fly, but the Night Hawk rally would end there, two runs short, with a final score of 6-4 in favor of the Lions.
