Nine Hits Not Enough in Loss to Warner

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Thomas University baseball team tagged nine hits in the Night Hawks' 6-4 loss to Warner University Friday afternoon.
 
Thomas falls to 13-21 overall and 2-8 in the Sun Conference.
 
The Night Hawks plated a pair of runs in the top of the first, but Warner tied the game in the bottom of the frame. Warner took the 1-run lead in the fourth, then Thomas scored one run in both the fifth and seventh innings to again regain the lead, 4-3. Warner added one in the seventh and a pair in the eighth to earn the win.
 
Jose Class Jr. went 2-for-4, hitting his first triple of the season, and collected a pair of RBI. Khadin Bastian and Luis Rodriguez-Gallo also tagged a pair of hits.
 
Starting pitcher AJ Wydra struck out three in 6.1 innings, and allowed nine hits and four earned runs. Bradley Peacock came in for 1.2 innings of relief, scattering three hits and allowing two earned runs.
 
Thomas and Warner are back in action in a Sun Conference double header on Saturday. First pitch will be at noon.
