THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team lost a double header to Madonna University on Friday, falling 11-7 in the first game and 4-3 in the second outing.

Thomas will again face Madonna University in a double header on Saturday. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. at Varnedoe Stadium.

Game One
Thomas plated one run in the second inning, then added a second score in the third to take the 2-0 lead after three, but Madonna collected eight runs from eight hits in the fourth. The Crusaders added a pair in the fifth, then TU countered with two runs in the bottom of the frame. Madonna added one in the sixth, taking an 11-4 lead. Thomas plated three in the seventh to end the game, 11-7.

Matthew Delay, Jr., went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored, and
Cam Williams connected on an RBI-triple, his first triple of the season. Â
Luis Rodriguez-Gallo also went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, a walk and a run scored.
Bradley Fleenor went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a pair of sacrifice hits.

Pitcher
Alex Friesen earned the start for TU, and also took the loss, allowing six runs from six hits while walking three and striking out three in 3.2 innings.

Game Two
After three scoreless innings, Madonna plated the first run of the game off a sac fly to left field in the fourth, then in the fifth added three more to go ahead 4-0.

In the sixth, Delay drew a leadoff walk and
Jean Pool Checo connected on a base hit.
Cam Williams loaded the bases after reaching on an error. Gallo grounded into a double play, allowing Delay to score, unearned. Fleenor then reached on a fielding error, plating Checo for TU's second run of the inning.

Down by two in the bottom of the seventh,
Kason Buie drew a leadoff walk, and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Jose Class, Jr. then struck out, but reached on a wild pitch. With one out, Buie scored as
Michael Sowers reached on a fielder's choice hit to third base. Sowers, the tying run, was left stranded as Delay flew out to right and Checo popped up to end the game.

Dustin Letchworth started the game, striking out three and giving up three hits in 2.2 innings.
Brandon Steele came in for 1.1 innings of relief, allowing four runs from three hits, taking the loss.
