MONTEVALLO, ALA-  The Thomas University Men's Track and Field team competed at the two-day Falcons Invitational on Friday and Saturday Hosted by NCAA Opponent Montevallo University.  TU faced harsh rain and wind conditions on both days but that did not stop two Night Hawks from highlighting a record breaking season opener. 

 

Darian Mills showed up big time as a true freshman, competing in the 400-meter hurdles to open up his first outdoor collegiate season. The Port St.Joe native nearly missed the NAIA B' Standard, clocking in a new school record time of 55.45 for a fourth-place finish. Mills concluded his day on Saturday in the 200 with a new school record time of 21.90 for a fourth-place finish. 

 

Ethan Fralish opened his Night Hawk Outdoor season debut on the right note. The Transfer Jumper competed in the Long Jump, punching a new school record of 6.79 meters for a second-place finish, which marked the highest finish for the Men's side. Fralish concluded his day on Saturday in the Triple Jump, notching another school record of 14.09 meters for a fifth-place finish. Ethan's performance was also recognized as an MVP taking third place in that category. 

Junior Justin Tomison led the way for the upperclassmen, taking a ninth-place finish in the 5000 meter with a time of 15.48.82. Junior Tyrese Henderson finished eighth in the long jump with a measurement of 6.27 meters. Sophomore Jaquim Evans finished in 10th in the High Jump with a measurement of 1.75 meters.

The Men's team finished 7th overall.

Next up, Thomas will travel to Atlanta, Ga this upcoming Friday and Saturday for the Thrills in the Hills meet hosted by Emory University.
