MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Thomas University baseball scored seven runs in the top of the ninth, but was unable to hold off St. Thomas University in the bottom of the frame, taking the 14-13 loss at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.

The Night Hawks fall to 11-18 overall and 1-5 in the Sun Conference.

Bradley Fleenor drove in TU's first run with a single to right in the first inning, but St. Thomas tied the game in the bottom of the frame.

The Bobcats added a run in the second inning to go ahead, 2-1.

Fleenor picked up his second RBI in the third inning, punching a base hit to right.
Jean Pool Checo plated Thomas' second run of the third inning, sending a sac fly to left to score
Cam Williams, and give Thomas a 3-2 edge.

St. Thomas scored 10 runs over three innings to hold a 12-3 lead heading into the eighth.

Thomas scored three runs in the eighth and plated seven runs in the ninth to go ahead, 13-12, but St. Thomas drew a walk to tie the game, then singled to right to walk off with the one-run victory.

TU used six pitchers in the game and St. Thomas saw five pitchers take the mound.

AJ Wydra pitched the first 5.1 innings, scattering eight hits and allowing five runs while walking three and striking out two.

The Night Hawks tagged 15 hits and the Bobcats connected on 17.

Fleenor was 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored.
Luis Rodriguez-Gallo collected three hits, Matthew Delay, Jr. tagged a 3-run double, and Checo hit a triple, his first of the season.

TU next plays midweek against Edward Waters on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Thomasville.
