THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Junior pitcher
Amber Griffin held the College of Coastal Georgia scoreless through four innings, but Thomas University ultimately fell, 5-0, to the Mariners in Sunday's Sun Conference rubber match at Armory Field.

On Saturday, CCG won the first game, 5-1, then the Night Hawks took the second game, 4-3.

Dale Elmore came in to get the final two outs of the fifth, then allowed just one hit in the sixth.

In the bottom of the sixth, TU threatened to score as
Averie Sheppard hit a leadoff infield single, then
Holly Campbell tagged a base hit to the left side. After a line out, both runners advanced on a long fly out to left field by
Adreanna Killingsworth, but
Jaelynn Vialpando flew out to right to end the inning.

In the seventh, the TU defense made two errors and Elmore gave up three hits, which allowed the Mariners to plate five runs. Pitcher
Leanne Lain closed the game for the Night Hawks. She faced the final batter, forcing a fly out.

Sheppard and
Grace Hodges each tagged a pair of hits for TU, and Campbell and
Emma Alley each connected on one hit.
