Marietta, Ga- The Thomas University women's basketball team (3-11, 1-5) traveled to take on Life University (12-2, 5-1) in a SSAC matchup on Saturday evening.
In the first quarter, the Night Hawks would shoot 45% from the field and score 11 points. Life would score 16 points and force 7 turnovers to gain the lead after the first period of play. In the second, the Running Eagles would produce a quarter similar to their first period of play. Thomas would trail, 20-32, at the break.
The third quarter would prove to be the lowest scoring quarter for the Night Hawks. Thomas would only score 4 points, while allowing the Running Eagles to produce 23 points. Going into the fourth and final period of play, Thomas would need a big quarter to get back in the game. In the quarter, the Night Hawks would shoot 57% from the field and 50% from behind the arc to produce 23 points and win the quarter. Thomas weren't able to overcome the deficit built in the previous three quarters and ultimately lost 73-45.
Dejah Wilson would record 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. Jasmyn Studamire would record 11 points and grab 5 rebounds. Ta'Nija Watson recorded 8 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
NEXT UP: The Night Hawks will take on Stillman College in a SSAC matchup on January 4th at the TU Gymnasium. Tip off is set for 5:30 PM.
