Night Hawks Outscored by Seahawks

West Palm Beach, FL | The Thomas University women's basketball team (2-8, 1-3) were defeated by Keiser University (6-4,0-0) on Saturday evening. 

To begin the first quarter, both teams would be plagued by several turnovers. After three minutes of play, the contest would remain scoreless. Destiny Hill would end the scoring drought with a layup at the seven minute mark.The Seahawks would respond shortly after with a three pointer of their own that would kickstart a 9-0 Keiser run. The Night Hawks would trail Keiser 18-7 at the end of the first period.

Sheridan Green would provide Thomas with a sign of life to begin the second quarter by connecting on back-to-back three pointers to cut the deficit to six, 19-13. The Night Hawks would continue battling to further cut the deficit to four following a pair of fastbreak layups from Destiny Hill and Dejah Wilson. The Seahawks would respond from the free-throw line to lead the Night Hawks 33-25 heading into the half.

The third quarter would begin similarly to the second. Sheridan Green would provide momentum for the Night Hawks by connecting on a three point basket followed by a layup to cut the Seahawks' lead to 30-39. The Seahawks would come storming back. They would outscore the Night Hawks 29-10 in the third period. Thomas would trail Keiser 35-62 to begin the final period of play.

In the fourth quarter, Keiser would continue to control the game. The Night Hawks would produce 18 points in the period, but the deficit built in the previous quarter would ultimately be too great to overcome. The Seahawks would take a 74-53 victory. 

Three Night Hawks would see double-digit scoring. Destiny Hill would lead all Night Hawks with 16 points, Sheridan Green would produce 11, and Dejah Wilson would add 10. Dejah Wilson would lead the Night Hawks in rebounds with 10, while Destiny Hill would also grab 9. Tara Llorente would lead the Night Hawks in assists with 5.

NEXT UP: Thomas will travel to Ave Maria, FL on December, 13th to take on Ave Maria University in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 7 PM.
