Pulaski, Tennessee- The Thomas University Men's Soccer Team (9-3-3, 6-2-2 SSAC) played their final regular season conference game against the University of Tennessee Southern (9-5-2, 4-4-2 SSAC) on Saturday afternoon. With postseason play in sight, both teams were eager to end their regular season run with a conference win.

In the first period, both teams aggressively tried to find the first goal of the contest. However, the defensive efforts of both teams would highlight the first half. This would result in a scoreless half, despite several shot attempts. Thomas would record four shots, while Tennessee Southern would record six. The Night Hawks would have two corner kick opportunities, compared to the Firehawks' zero. Jorge Gonzalez would record one save. 

Thomas would strike first in the second half. In the 54th minute of the contest, Thomas' Luiz Anchieta would find the back of the net to give the Night Hawks a 1-0 lead. However, in the 67th minute, the Firehawks would answer with a goal of their own to even the score at one goal a piece. Despite having several opportunities, neither team would score again. At the end of regulation, the score would remain 1-1.

In total, Thomas would take fifteen shots with eleven on goal, and Tennessee Southern would record twelve shots with just three on goal. The Night Hawks would have three corner kick opportunities, compared to the Firehawks' one. Thomas' Jorge Gonzalez would tally two saves in the contest.

Next Up: Thomas will return home for their final game of the regular season, in which they will face Georgia Gwinnett College in a non-conference matchup on October, 25th. Kickoff is set for 1 PM at the TU Soccer Complex.
