Men's Soccer Travels for SUN Opener

THOMASVILLE, GA — The Thomas University men's soccer team opens SUN Conference play this Saturday against the Bobcats from #4 St. Thomas University.

TU enters the conference opener 3-3-1 on the season, after a recent two game home skid that saw a narrow 2-1 defeat against #19 Florida National University, and a hard fought 1-0 loss to the (now) #1 team in the nation University of Mobile.

Entering this weekend's contest, the Night Hawks have been flawless against unranked/not receiving votes opponents, with a perfect 3-0 record in those matchups. Meanwhile, the team has battled in each of the teams losses with each ranked/RV loss being decided by just a single goal.

The Night Hawks have scored eleven times this year as eight total players have tallied at least one goal on the season.

Defensively, the Night Hawk back line has limited opponents to one goal per game, while the attack of TU has piled on the pressure scoring 1.57 goals per game. Thomas University opponents have been forced to grab an average of six saves per contest.

On the other side of things, St. Thomas enters Saturday's matchup ranked 4th in the nation after climbing in rank each of this season's three NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Polls. Most recently, the Bobcats crushed Middle Georgia in a 10-0 win on Tuesday.

With an impressive undefeated 3-0 record on the season, the Bobcats have looked defensively sound not allowing a single goal in the team's three games played.

Kickoff in Miami Gardens at AutoNation Field is set for 11 AM.
