THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomas University women's soccer team cruised to a 5-0 win over Edward Waters University Sunday afternoon. 

The rain-riddled contest saw kickoff begin on time at 2:00 PM, before rain and lightning suspended the contest for over an hour.

The contest was suspended in the 15th minute, with TU ahead 1-0 after an Analeice Wilkes goal in the 3rd minute. 

After resumption, the Night Hawks tallied four more goals in the half, with Analeice Wilkes slotting a goal in the bottom corner, scoring a PK, and scoring a goal in the 38th minute, 4-0. 

TU then scored one final goal just before the half, with perfect play down the sideline with Jade Slaybaugh and Elsebeth la Cour Anderson combining to score Slaybaugh's first goal of the season. 

The second half of play saw Thomas continue to control possession, with six additional shots being sent towards frame. Despite the advantageous positioning for most of the half, Edward Waters defense held on for the final 45. 

Overall, TU created numerous opportunities throughout the contest, delivering 18 shots with 10 being on target.

Emily Lamoreaux made two saves in the winning effort, one in each half. 

Wilkes continued her hot streak for the Night Hawks, scoring nine goals in her last three contests. Junior defender Jade Slaybaugh grabbed her second career goal in the game, while Thomas' underclassmen continued to shine with Sasha Manders, Elsebeth la Cour Anderson, and Sophia Papas all picking up assists in the 5-0 win. 

Up next, the Night Hawks will hit the road this upcoming Friday to face Life University at 5 PM.
