THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomas University men's soccer team will play their third game of the season on Friday, with Brewton-Parker College scheduled to be TU's home opener.
The Night Hawks (0-1-1) lead the historical matchup against the Baron with a 3-0 all-time record. BPC (0-1-1) enters the Rose city after a five game home-span (two non-compete scrimmages and a rained out contest) where the Barons tied Truett McConnell 1-1 last week before getting shutout by SCAD 3-0 on Tuesday.
Last season, Brewton-Parker finished 4-12-2 overall and 2-4-1 in conference action. Head Coach Bob Neumann remains at the helm, now in his second season.
The Night Hawks enter the contest two weeks removed from action, ready to start September's two game home streak with a win. The men's team is led by seasoned veterans Joao Pedro Vinha and Giacomo Bacigalupo, who both registered goals in Thomas' opening weekend at the Mobile Classic.
Last season, the Night Hawks won the game 2-1 with a late go-ahead goal in the 80th minute from Hudson Cougill proving to be be the difference.
