Night Hawks set to Host Midweek Series against St. Thomas

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The Thomas University softball team will continue conference play this week, hosting St. Thomas University on Tuesday and Wednesday for more SUN Conference play.

The Night Hawks (16-12, 3-6 SUN) and Bobcats (11-13, 3-6 SUN) both enter the series outside the playoff picture as the teams close in on the midway point of SUN play.

After a stellar start to the season, the Night Hawks' successes in early season play has not directly translated to SUN play, with 1-2 series performances against Webber, Southeastern, and, most recently, Ave Maria.

The Bobcats sit at the same 3-6 mark in conference play after a 2-1 series win over Keiser, a 1-2 losing effort against Warner, and a series sweep from Southeastern, 3-0.

In the head-to-head, TU holds a 16-7 series lead over St. Thomas with both teams picking up a win last year after splitting a pair of contests.

In game one the Night Hawks fell to the Bobcats 8-3 before narrowly turning it around in game two 5-4 win.

Thomas' game two win required extra innings before an Averie Sheppard RBI won the game in the top of the eighth, 5-4.

First pitch scheduled for Tuesday's doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. while Wednesday's start time is slated for 12 p.m.
