THOMASVILLE, GA- The Thomas University Men's Soccer team concluded their season at home against Webber International for the SUN Conference Quarterfinal round.
The Warriors (10-3-1, 5-3-1) did not take long to get things going with a goal from Joseph O'Sullivian in the 10th minute. The Night Hawks (7-6-5, 4-3-2) seemed out of rhythm, but continued to find a strategy to balance the scoreboard out. The Green and White took five shots in total in the first half but the Warriors' defense became too much for Thomas to take advantage. Eventually, the game began to get physical with several yellow cards being issued for WIU before time winded down in the first half.
Entering the second half, Webber continued where they started with only four minutes being played Joseph O' Sullivan found the back of the net. The momentum continued to build in the Warriors' favor as Thomas struggled to find a solid answer. TU saw several chances to break the silence but a few shots did not go their way as they planned. Webber controlled the majority of the game playing patiently as time winded down to punch their ticket to Semifinal round of the SUN Conference Championship.
Overall, WIU concluded the match with fourteen shots with eight of those being on goal. The Warriors also had seven saves and four corner kicks. TU ended up with thirteen shots with seven of those being on goal. Additionally, Thomas had six saves and three corner kicks.
