BOWDON, GA-  Ralph Sanders was Inducted into Bowdon High School Hall of Fame this past weekend.

The Bowdon, Ga native spoke highly of his selfless contributions to the community.

"I really do not want to talk about my honors as a coach," said Ralph Sanders. " Instead I would like to talk about what an honor it was to serve the community of Bowdon and all my former athletes." People ask me how many wins I have and I really do not have a clue" "It was never about me, but about the players I coached and hopefully the positive influence I had on at least one of them." 

Sanders was no stranger to the Red Devil's athletic department. He coached several sports which included softball, wrestling and Track/Field to name a few. Additionally, multiple accolades have been built into his resume over the years, but there was a bigger message behind his accomplishments as a coach.

"I have a couple of rings, a shoe box filled with medals, patches and certificates." " A box full of plaques for various accolades." "I have coached several individual state champions, including Bowdon's first wrestling state championship." I am pretty sure in most sports that I have coached I won more than I lost. "It is more important for the influence that I have had on young lives."

"I have always been proud to be a Bowdon Red Devil and honored me to work as long as I did with young lives in Bowdon"
