COCHRAN, Ga. – Three Night Hawks scored in double digits Tuesday in the Night Hawks' 66-61 loss to Middle Georgia State University at Morris Gymnasium.
Sophomore
Jade Studamire went 8-for-10 at the line, along with a pair of 3-pointers on her way to a team high 22 points. Sophomore
Lenise Santiago added 17 points, draining four from long range, while classmate
Mahogany Menefee chipped in 10 points and dished out eight assists for the Night Hawks. Sophomore
Dejah Wilson ripped down 13 boards, including six on the offensive end.
Thomas (0-2) fell behind, 13-14, after the first quarter, but took a 33-28 lead into the locker room for halftime. The Night Hawks led by as many as 10 in the third quarter, but MGSU hit a trey one minute into the fourth quarter and never relinquished the lead to earn the victory.
The Night Hawks held the Knights to just 25.0 percent from long distance and won the battle of the boards, 33-31. Thomas also hit 18 field goals off of 15 assists.
Next up, the Night Hawks will play in the Jimmy Faulkner Classic held in Montgomery, Ala. Thomas will face Cumberland University Friday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. then battle Milligan University Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m.
